We have all been there, we are about to leave school and be thrust into the "real world". It's a time where you are discovering who you are and what kind of person you want to be. It's hard enough for the average person to deal with, hormones racing all over the place but for Steven, life is a whole other level.

ree

Steven has a BIG secret and one that has changed his life forever. Steven has powers and they are connected to his emotions but something seems off. When he is happy, things go wrong. When he is

sad, the weather becomes sunny. You can see his dilemma.

One night at a party, Steven gets his first kiss but it doesn't go to plan. The person he kissed.... their head explodes!! In a panic, he runs away to the only place no one will look for him, Grunsby-on-Sea.

What follows is a whirlwind adventure of self discovery, friendship and finding your power. Steven learns to rely on those around him and open up to be the best version of himself.

One of the great things a

bout Overemotional is the way it tackles the age old trope of coming out. I feel that Overemotional does an amazing job of accurately portraying the emotional rollercoaster o

f being able to be your authentic self. The fact that Steven is reluctant to tell people he is gay is mirrored in the way that his powers manifest compared to others in the book who are comfortable with who they are.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what other adventures Steven and his friend embark on in the future.
