When a group of friends descend upon a remote Scottish lodge to celebrate the New Year, events take a turn and secrets are revealed. Will they all survive?

Lucy Foley is an amazing crime writer. Her books paint a beautiful, complex portrait of the human mind and interactions in a way that brings her characters to life. Many of the characters in The Hunting Party are the type of people you love to hate. The people who went to top universities and see money as a stamp of superiority. They have to have the latest trends at their finger tips and to crown them all is Miranda, the IT girl who commands her minions to do her bidding.

As you read through The Hunting Party, you learn all the dirty little secrets the group have hidden for years. Rifts begin to form between the bestest of friends and lovers start to become enemies. Throw into the mix the staff at the lodge, who both seem to be running away from their own demons and you have a recipe for intrigued.

At the beginning of the story, you learn that someone has died. A guest. You don’t know who it is. Is it a women? A man? The more you read, the more clues are fed to you bit by bit. It isn’t until the final few chapters that you learn the identity of the victim and how they succumbed to their untimely end. In the frozen landscape, far from civilisation, the people you thought you knew become the monsters they have been hiding all along.
